Latest HTC Mobiles on the Market

The argument over which mobile phone brand is the best rages on amongst technolophiles like myself. With the introduction of a whole new range of smartphones from brands such as Apple (iPhone 3G and the new iPhone 3G S), Samsung (i900 Omnia) and Nokia (N96, N97 - which I'll talk about a little later); this is a hugely congested market full of, what many may perceive to be, very similar models.
Taiwanese firm HTC have been operational since 1997, but it has only really been in the last few years that they have become a major player in the hugely competitive market of mobile phones. Whilst I was a relative latecomer by picking up on the HTC Touch Diamond, since this point I've never looked back.
Their functionality, usability and design are head and shoulders about most. Every year HTC churn out brand new innovations on a wide select of original handsets, all of which are created to the same exacting standards. Whilst there were issues with the Touch Diamond, for example menus were a little slow and the battery wasn't renowned for its longevity, they have always managed to eliminate the problem s of the past, whilst adding the technology of the future.
Today their range is just as varied and equally packed with quality as it was when I made my first purchase last year. I've used their latest four devices - HTC HD2, HTC Touch Pro 2, HTC Diamond 2, HTC Magic in an attempt to work out which one I should ultimately choose and here are my findings.
HTC HD 2
This is one of the latest phones introduced to the HTC family and it is one of the most cutting-edge and talked about devices on the market. Moving beyond aesthetics, which as always are impeccable, the HTC HD2 is packed with all of the latest multimedia gadgets and has the benefit of a fantastically clear HD 4.3" touchscreen display, which is actually the largest screen on any mobile!
All of this combined makes it flash enough for technology lovers like myself, style-conscious consumers and business people from all walks of life. Better still, despite being one of the highest spec devices on the market, you can save yourself a lot of money getting the HTC HD 2 because it is new on the market and retailers are offering some great pay monthly tariffs. There are some great deals out there, so why pay more for less?
The HTC HD 2 is definitely a candidate when it comes to leading smartphone, in my humble opinion at least.
HTC Touch Pro 2
Released back in May to much fanfare, the dual-layered HTC Touch Pro 2 provides an evolutionary step from the straightforward touchscreen navigation, which has become something of a tradition within the HTC range. Offering a full slide out QWERTY keyboard, rather than the Blackberry-esque bolt-on beneath the screen, communications are made remarkably straightforward.Still with the high definition touchscreen navigation, the 3.6" screen is a fantastically clear and easy to use.
You can skim through the menus in no time at all and access the fantastic array of multimedia gizmos and Microsoft Pocket Office applications. As it is more expensive, this definitely has to be taken into account, but with the dual-layer aspect you are certainly getting more for your money; particularly I would suggest for business users.
HTC Diamond 2
The HTC Diamond 2 was unleashed just prior to the aforementioned HTC Touch Pro 2; however, for the technologically savvy and style conscious, this could well be the leading choice. Incorporating that archetypal and fantastically angular simplicity that has been the cornerstone of the HTC Diamond brand, this is a sleek and streamlined mobile phone, perfect for the modern user. Like the Touch HD, the HTC Diamond 2 has the exceptional 5MP camera, which produces photos and video of real quality. Invariably it also has some of the cooler accessories, plug-ins and features.
There's great connectivity too to compliment the multimedia package, with Wi-Fi and extremely quick 7.2 Mbps HSDPA on board. This is yet another reason why HTC are one of the fastest emerging names in mobile communications and also why their smartphones are so highly revered. The HTC Diamond 2 is a real contender, there can be no doubts about that.
HTC Magic
Last, but by no means least, comes the HTC Magic. Offering a simpler, cleaner design s than most conventional high-end mobile phones, the HTC Magic is a real exercise in beauty and simplicity. It offers more of a stripped down version of the other HTC models, but without losing any of the style or quality. One of the primary differences between this and others is the switch over to the Android Operating System (stepping away from Microsoft).
This highly innovative and brand new platform is at the very cutting edge and offers brand new expansions due to the Internet style innovations within the software. Undoubtedly, as an Android phone (a product initially developed by Google) the HTC Magic will garner a good deal of attention. For people more interested in pure styling it may not be so interesting, but for the more technology minded like myself, this is certainly a huge selling feature. That said, you don't lose out on your standard Office applications (although this only has the document reader) and general connectivity and multimedia applications either; so this is an incredibly exciting package.
